Matt Durant '99 enters his 19th year as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University of La Verne. Durant oversees the entire strength training and conditioning program for La Verne's 20 intercollegiate programs and the student-athletes. In 2017 Durant was named the National Sports Performance Association (NSPA) Coach of the Year.

Under Durant's guidance, eight Leopards received the National Strength and Conditioning Association All-America awards:

Countless student-athletes received All-SCIAC, All-Region, and All-America honors during Durant's tenure.

A 1999 La Verne graduate, Durant came back to La Verne in 2002 after stints at the College of the Canyons and Wingate. At the College of the Canyons, he was an instrumental part of a team that made three consecutive bowl game appearances. Durant moved on to Wingate University in 2001, where he was the assistant strength coach and the wide receivers coach.

Durant spent the 2004-05 season at the College of the Canyons to work with Robert Dos Remedios as his assistant.

Durant earned a bachelor's degree at La Verne and received a master's from Azusa Pacific. He is a member of the NSCA and is a Level 1 Club coach through USAW.
