Q: What is the difference between CoRec and Open Leagues?

A: CoRec Leagues have a required amount of men to women ratio; a certain number of males and females must be present and participating. Open Leagues are for everyone.

A: Definitely.  Men can play in Open, CoRec, Men’s and Greek League (given the individual is a part of a Greek organization). Women can play in Open, CoRec, Women’s and Greek Leagues (given the individual is a part of a Greek organization). Remember, participants may only play on one team in each league.

Q: Do I need to attend the Captain’s Meeting?

A: If you are listed as the Captain on imLeagues.com, you will need to attend to ensure your team’s sport in the league. If the captain absolutely cannot attend the meeting, they may appoint a representative to attend the meeting in their place. Either way, a representative from each team needs to present at the captain’s meeting for their team to be approved. All Captain’s Meetings will occur on the last day of registration. There will be two time slots available, 11:00am and 12:00pm – you must attend 1 of the 2 time slots.

Q: I registered as a free agent, what else do I need to do?

A: Free Agents must attend the Free Agent meeting. At this meeting you will meet other free agents that signed up for your league and be placed on a team based on your availability. If you do not attend this meeting, you will not be placed on a team.

Q: What determines the time and day of the games?

A: Facility availability determines the time and day of games. Intramural’s shares the fields and facilities with ULV athletic teams and other student organizations.

Q: How do I add players to my team?  Is there a deadline?

A: You can add players when you register your team on imLeagues.com/Laverne. If the player you want to add does not have an account set up yet, you may click “invite players” for them to get an invite to join through their email. There is a deadline for players to be added – you may add players up until the last day of the regular season, no new players during playoffs.

Q: What does the sportsmanship rating mean?

A: The sportsmanship rating is between 0 and 4 and is how the officials and supervisors rate your level of sportsmanship throughout the game. The rating criteria includes but is not limited to: the team’s reaction to calls, attitude towards their opponents and officials, rowdiness of the fans, cleanliness of the playing area, etc. A full description of the sportsmanship rating breakdown can be found in the rules of every sport and the IM Participant Manual. Teams must average a minimum of a 2.5 sportsmanship rating throughout the season to be eligible for playoffs.

Q: What is the difference between a Forfeit and Default?

A: If you call the Intramural Sports Coordinator’s Office 24 hours prior to your teams scheduled game, your team will receive a Default. A Default will have zero consequences due to the staff being informed ahead of time of the change in the schedule. If your team fails to inform the Intramural Sports Coordinator and does not show up for your scheduled game, your team will receive a Forfeit.  When receiving a Forfeit, your team will also receive a “2” for their sportsmanship rating for that game – remember, you team needs at least an average minimum of a 2.5 sportsmanship rating throughout the season to be eligible for playoffs.

Q: What is the difference between Leagues and Tournaments?

A: Leagues include a regular season (usually 4 – 5 weeks) plus a week of playoffs. Tournaments are usually a 1 – 2 day event (or sometimes longer) that are typically run with double-elimination brackets.
