The University of La Verne men's 4x400 yard freestyle relay team came in huge for the men's swimming and diving team. Needing a in in the final event of the day to claim the meet victory Brandon Pon, Kris Grigorian, Lorenzo DeLeon, and CJ Woodward outswam the Poets, clocking in a a time of 3:22.38 for the event win, and a 124-121 meet win over the SCIAC foe.
Brandon Pon jumped in first and stayed close with Whittier's Michael Laws. Kristofer Grigorian swam the second leg and stayed neck and neck with the Poets' Devin Gaude. Sophomore Lorenzo DeLeon jumped into the pool next and pulled ahead by over a second at the 250 yard mark. DeLeon extended the Leopards' lead to just under five seconds when anchor leg CJ Woodward dove into the water. Woodward did his job, finishing fast, clocking in at 3:22.38 to give the Leopards the win.
