La Verne Athletics Media Policy

Department of Athletics Interview Policy

All interviews must be requested and arranged through the Athletics Communication Director. Interviews and photo/video sessions will be arranged by the Athletics Communication Director at a time that will not interfere with student-athletes' academic schedule or coach or administrator’s daily responsibilities. Requests should be made at least two days in advance to allow proper notification to the player, coach, or administrator.

For interviews with coaches, media will be given a "best time to call" list from the Athletics Communication office. If the coaches receive a cold call for an interview, they reserve the option to ask the media member to call at a designated time frame or contact the Athletics Communication Director.

Postgame Interviews

Locker rooms are closed to all media. A 10-minute cooling off period will be enforced following each contest, after which the La Verne head coach and requested players will be made available to the media. Interview requests will be taken late in the game and every effort will be made to ensure that requested players are available. Requests for visiting coaches and players should be made through the opponent's media relations contact.

Please coordinate all postgame interviews through the La Verne sports information office.

Working Press Credentials

Press and photographer media credentials will be issued to members of the working media only. Credentials for all La Verne home contests can be obtained by contacting the Athletics Communication Director via email. Credentials will be left at the ticket window. Press pass requests should be made no later than 24 hours prior to a home contest.

Credentials

According to NCAA regulations, all members of the media must remain outside of the team bench and official scorers’ area for the duration of the contest. Media personnel should always remain off of the competition arena. For football, all media must remain outside of the 25-yard markers at all times.

All photographers must be mobile (no tripods) and may not be in a position where they may interfere with the contest. In addition, photographers are required to remain outside of the team bench areas, any spectator boundary lines, as well as the competition arena. Flash photography is not permitted for indoor sports

Credentials are required at all home football games. Please contact Athletics Communication Director Anthony Avila at (909) 448-4639 or aavila3@laverne.edu at least two days prior to the game to request a credential.
