Baseball records 17 RBI in win over Blue Angels

LA VERNE, CA — Tanner Siffert and Roy Hirota led the Leopards with three RBI apiece and the University of La Verne baseball team dominated the College of New Rochelle, beating the Blue Angels 20-1.

The Leopards totaled 17 RBI in the win.

Tanner Siffert broke the game open in the second inning when he drove in a pair of runs with a triple to left field, extending the lead to 6-0.

Brandon Shiota finished 4-6 at the plate with two RBI and four runs. Christopher Ligot was perfect in the game, going 2-2 with a double and two RBI.

Designated hitter Aaron Fong added two RBI. Christopher Peres got the scoring started for the Leopards in the first when he tripled in a pair of runs. Peres also scored twice.

Roy Hirota finished with a double and sacrifice fly to go with his three RBI. Tanner Browning scored four runs for the Leopards and Jacob Benson reached the plate three times.

Ryan Aguilar, Adam Santa Cruz, and Jacob Barriga each added one RBI. Drew Reddick scored twice.

Cody Norman picked up his fifth win of the season, pitching five innings, striking out six, with just four hits and no earned runs. Norman is 5-0 in his starts this season.
