La Verne, California - University of La Verne Junior outfielder Brandon Shiota was named SCIAC Hitter of the Week. Shiota helped lift La Verne to a 3-0 week in the SCIAC as the Leopards swept Whittier, 17-5, 14-2, and 12-0. Shiota hit .600 totaling three hits in each game. He scored six runs, legged out four doubles, and notched a home run en route to seven RBI on the week. He added a .625 on-base percentage, and a 1.067 slugging percentage.
