La Verne Takes Part In Conference Championship Meet
The University of La Verne took part in the SCIAC Cross Country Championships held Saturday at Prado Park in Chino.
The Leopard men made a youthful impression at the meet as three of its top four finishers were freshman.
Freshman Leo Martinez enjoyed the best La Verne finish, completing the course in 28:56.17, good for 50th place overall. Junior Corey Hanson placed 72nd with a time of 30:12.72.
Other La Verne competitors included freshman Marcus Fortugna who placed 83rd, crossing the finish line in 32:07.35 while fellow frosh Jacon Acevedo finished in 34:10.07 to place 88th overall.
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps took the overall team title while Occidental
placed second.
