Livingston Named SCIAC Male Athlete of the Week

PASADENA — La Verne quarterback William Livingston was named the SCIAC Male Athlete of Week after racking up 469 yards through the air and tossing seven touchdowns in a shootout against Whitworth on Sept. 20.

In a game featured eight lead changes, Livingston made sure the Leopards stayed in the game and responded each time Whitworth scored. All of his seven touchdowns either tied or flipped the lead back to La Verne.

Livingston averaged 10.7 yards per attempt and his three second-half touchdown passes went for 80, 77 and 25 yards each. He completed passes to nine different receivers and connected with wide receiver Jon Lilly for six of his seven scores.

The junior was also solid in the season opener, throwing for 313 yards and three touchdowns in a 47-33 win at George Fox on Sept. 13.

The Leopards are on a bye this week and will start SCIAC action against Occidental on Oct. 4 at 7 p.m.
