MIAMI, Fla. — Travis Sparks-Jackson of the University of La Verne football team has been selected play in the 2015 National Bowl Game, an annual postseason all-star game consisting of top players from non-FBS schools.

The Huntington Beach native, who was named to the 2015 First Team All-SCIAC earlier this week, joins top seniors from over 30 states representing over 400 NCAA Division II, Division III and NAIA schools.

Sparks-Jackson ran for 1,521 yards and 19 touchdowns this season. He surpassed the century mark on the ground in every game but one and scored a touchdown in every game this season. Sparks-Jackson also became La Verne's all-time leading rusher and leaves La Verne with 3,046 career rushing yards.

The National Bowl will be played this Sunday at 10 a.m. ET at Florida International University's Ocean Bank Field at FIU Stadium. The game will be broadcast as a live stream on South Florida Sports Network.

The National Bowl is the only current postseason all-star game to focus on non-FBS players that get the opportunity to play in front of several NFL and CFL scouts. The rosters give professional scouts a chance to view and get to know some of the best players from smaller schools over the bowl weekend.

The AFL's Brian Ferguson and Kevin O'Hanlon will coach the teams.
