MINNEAPOLIS — Dallas Parent of the La Verne football team was recognized nationally and was selected to the 2016 D3football.com Second Team All-West Region Team as voted by the sports information directors in the region and D3football.com staff.

It is the second postseason honor for the senior running back. Parent was named to First Team All-SCIAC after the conlusion of the season in November.

The Fullerton native finished the season with 1,237 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. His total rushing yards ranks 19th in the nation with every player ahead of him having played at least one more game. On a per game basis, Parent is ranked 10th with 137.4 yards per game.

He was also named to the D3football.com Team of the Week on Oct. 15 after tallying a staggering 298 yards on 28 carries while scoring four touchdowns in a 57-56 win over Occidental.

Parent leaves La Verne with 2,414 career rushing yards and 23 touchdowns.

Players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for D3football.com All-America honors, which will be announced the evening of Dec. 16, in D3football.com's pregame coverage for Stagg Bowl XLIV.
