The University of La Verne football team celebrates homecoming tomorrow when they face the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags.

The Match-Up:
The Leopards suffered a setback last week to first place Chapman and look rebound Saturday against the Stags. Despite the loss, the Leopards finished with 238 yards through the air, their highest total of the season.
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps comes into the game on a two-game losing streak, dropping their last two contests to Cal Lutheran (42-20), and Redlands (42-25).
La Verne will need a big game from their defense, led by defensive tackle Austin Brown to stop a Stags offense that's averaging nearly 400 yards a game.
Last Season:
The Leopards fell to the Stags last season 34-23.
Recent Series:
The Leopards own the recent series against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 3-2. La Verne last beat the Stags 32-27 in 2015 also on homecoming.
Who to Watch:
La Verne will need a big game out of Evans who was limited on the ground last week. If the running game proves effective, it will give the Leopards' passing attack a chance to open up later in the game.
On defense, the Leopards need shut down the Stags' ground game that's averaging nearly 200 yards per contest. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps' quarterbacks have combined for nine interceptions this year; if they're forced into third and long situations, count on La Verne's secondary led by Torii Hilbert to make big plays.
The Stags are led by receiver Trey Smith and tight end Chris Cziesla who have combined for 680 receiving yards this season.
What's at Stake:
Both teams have suffered two SCIAC losses already and need a win to get back on track. The Leopards will be geared up to play in front of what expects to be a big crowd.
