KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Four members of the University of La Verne men's basketball were named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court for excelling in the classroom this past season.
Connor Head, Kendall McClain, Jordan Stokes and Tony Warwick were among more than 650 student-athletes from 227 colleges and universities who earned Honors Court distinction.
In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows.
- Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player
- Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2015-16
- academic year.
- Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
- Member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach
McClain, Stokes and Warwick graduated this past May with Bachelor's degrees in accounting, chemistry and communications respectively. Head is majoring in business administration and will enter his senior season in in 2017-18.
