LA VERNE, CA —

Luke Edwards gave La Verne its first lead of the game with 8:17 left in the first, draining a shot from the wing to put the Leopards up 19-17. But the lead didn't last long with the Kingsmen responding with a 12-2 run to jump back in front.

Enoch reignited the Leopards' offensive attack with a big three-pointer at the top of the key followed on La Verne. The freshman followed it up with a contested jumper on the Leopards next possession and added a layup a few minutes later to cut Cal Lutheran's lead to just one 29-28.

In the second half, Gustafson evened the game 48-48 when he grabbed an offensive board and put it back off the glass midway through the period.

A few minutes later with the Leopards trailing 53-50, Segun Oyeku came through with a sleek layup, putting a move on his defender at the top of the key and beating him to rim for the basket to cut La Verne's deficit to 53-52.
