Men's Basketball Drops Two Games in Oregon

OREGON — Sinai Enoch led the Leopards with 32 points over the weekend but the University of La Verne men's basketball team couldn't beat a pair of Norwest Conference opponents, falling to both George Fox and Willamette.

Enoch led the Leopards with 19 points off the bench in just 12 minutes of work. The sophomore sank three three-points, grabbed four rebounds, and dished out a pair of assists.

Jordan Allen recorded the first double-double of his career with 10 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. He also finished with one assist.

Jarid Taylor finished with 17 points off 7-13 shooting to go with six rebounds and a block. Isaiah Knox totaled 16 points, four rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block.

The Leopards got off to a hot start and jumped out to a 12-4 lead following a three-pointer by Taylor early in the first half. The Leopards held on to a 39-37 lead at the break.

After the squads battled back and forth for most of the second quarter, the Bruins took control with a 10-point lead with just under 10 minutes to play.

Knox got the Leopards to within three points of the Bruins' lead with 2:49 left to play when he grabbed a pass from Tevin McClain and sank a three-pointer to put the game at 82-79. But the Leopards couldn't get any closer.

Jackson Januik led George Fox with a game-high 24 points.

Willamette 84, La Verne 70

McClain led the Leopards in the second game of the weekend with 14 points off the bench but it wasn't enough as La Verne fell to the Bearcats.

McClain shot 5-7 from the floor with three three-pointers, four rebounds, and a block. Enoch scored 13 points with two assists, one rebound, one steal, and one block.

Segun Oyeku scored 10 points in his start and went 6-6 from the free-throw line. The sophomore added three rebounds and an assist. John Malone II led the Leopards with six rebounds.

The Bearcats were led by Cade Whicker's 21 points and Ben Sutton's 19 points and 10 rebounds.

Next Game

The Leopards will play their home opener next Saturday, November 30 against Mt. St. Vincent at 2 p.m.
