La Verne, CA — The Leopards rolled in the second half, Jarid Taylor notched his second double-double of the season, and the University of La Verne men's basketball team rolled on their way to a 68-55 win over Cal Lutheran.

Taylor dominated in the second half scoring 13 of his season-high 19 points in the period. The senior grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds, 10 defensively, made two three-pointers, and also added one assist, block, and steal.

Jordan Allen contributed 15 points with a pair of threes and totaled five rebounds and three assists. The Leopards continued their hot shooting from beyond the arc, finishing with seven three-pointers to help secure the win.

Sophomore Sinai Enoch finished with 11 points, four rebounds, and two assists despite having to head the bench for a significant portion of the first half after getting into foul trouble early. The Utah native sunk an off-balance layup and drained a three-pointer with just over five minutes remaining in the first half to close the Leopards' gap to just three points.

The Leopards came out hot in the second half and went on a 7-0 run against the Kingsmen sparked by Enoch's assist to Taylor for his second three-pointer of the night. Taylor followed up his three on the Leopards' next possession when he drove to the basket and dished to a wide-open Seth Shaw for the easy layin to put the Leopards up 28-26. La Verne capped off the run when Isaiah Knox grabbed a loose ball and passed it ahead to Allen for the fast-break layup.

La Verne outscored Cal Lutheran 45-29 in the second half and outrebounded the Kingsmen 39-26 in the game. The Leopards shot 73 percent from the free-throw line.

Segun Oyeku helped the team maintain control throughout the second half, finishing with six points and two rebounds off the bench. Tevin McClained totaled seven points, five rebounds, and two steals. Myles Jones picked three hard-fought rebounds.

The Kingsmen were led by Cole Thomas's 10 points and Palmer Chaplin's nine points four assists.

The Leopards seize their second win of the season and advance to 2-13 overall and 2-5 in the SCIAC. The Kingsmen decline to 2-14 overall and 1-7 in the SCIAC.
