LA VERNE, CA — The Leos walked out of The Tents with their second victory of the season, 80-58, over the West Coast Baptist Eagles Thursday, Dec. 9.

At the half, the Leos led by a four-point margin, 38-34. After leading wire-to-wire to start the contest in the first, the control of the second half was all Orange and Green.

The Leos expanded their lead at a slow and steady pace as the clock ticked away in the second, but at the 9:11 mark, La Verne turned on the gas and ended the game on a 24-8 run.

Juniors Seth Shaw and Paul Antonis spearheaded the Leo offensive attack. They both posted double-doubles — Shaw with 22 points and 14 rebounds, and Antonis scoring 17 and grabbing 12 boards.

Another impressive outing for Shaw, La Verne's reigning Leopard of the Week.

La Verne's supporting cast, were also shining stars in the victory. Senior John Malone II continued his sharp shooting, converting on 50% of his opportunities, with 12 points. Senior Isaiah Knox flew all over the court, grabbing rebounds, slinging assists and making buckets. Knox scored eight points, snagged nine rebounds, collected six assists, and smacked two blocks.

With the win, La Verne moves to 2-6 on the season and 0-2 in the SCIAC. The Eagles fall to 0-6.

The Leopards play again tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m. back in The Tents against the George Fox Bruins.
