La Verne, CA – The Leopards men's basketball team managed to score 43 points in the second half of Monday night's square-off against the California Lutheran University Kingsmen, but were unable to come out victorious– dropping the game 100-76.

Junior guard Brian Adams had a career-high scoring night, tallying 22 points for the team lead on 8-12 shooting to combine with four boards. Leading scorer for La Verne junior guard Paul Antonis led the team in rebounds with eight, picking up ten points on a night with a lighter load. A pair of Leopards scored nine points; junior forward Seth Shaw collected five rebounds and first-year guard Tavares James shot 3-5 from the field with a mark from downtown.

James led the way coming off the bench but had a supporting cast alongside him eager to get minutes in front of the home crowd underneath the tents. Junior guard Brad Yasukochi entered as a substitution and scored seven points while nabbing a steal, and sophomore forward Kyler Harvey nailed his lone shot from deep in the field on top of a pair of free throws to record five in three minutes.

With five games remaining in the 2021-22 season, the Leopards men's basketball team hits the road next looking to keep up the offensive production and build off their 43-point second half. On Wednesday, Feb. 9 the Leos travel to Redlands University aiming to put a short leash on the Bulldogs
