To help kick off its 2013 spring season, University of La Verne golf program will host its annual Alumni Match on Monday, February 11.
The format will be a four-man scramble tournament to be held at Vellano Country Club in Chino Hills.
The tournament serves as a fundraiser for the Leopard golf program. Among the notables scheduled to participate include former Leopard head coach and Hall of Famer Rex Huigens along with La Verne All-America and 2013 Hall of Fame Inductee Joe Skovron.
"We are very excited to welcome back former Leopard and current PGA tour caddie Joe Skovron to the event," said first-year head coach Chris Davis. "His addition should cap off a great list of former players for the University of La Verne, players that have helped shape the program into what it is today. We are also thrilled to host the event at a great course such as Vellano Country Club."
The tournament is open to alumni and supporters alike as the 2013 Leopard squad sets its sights on the upcoming season. La Verne, the six-time defending SCIAC Champions, will open its spring campaign at the SCIAC #1 Tournament Feb. 23-24 at Empire Lakes Golf Club.
