Hussein, Phanomchai, Davis named All-SCIAC

LA VERNE, Calif. — Hisham Hussein was named the Lee Fulmer SCIAC Athlete of the Year, Pitiluk Phanomchai was tabbed the Ken Sherman SCIAC Newcomer of the Year, and Conner Davis earned All-SCIAC honors the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced Friday.

Hussein also earned First Team All-SCIAC honors after a fantastic junior season. Hussein won SCIAC No. 1 with rounds of 68 and 67 and took fourth overall at SCIAC No. 2. The local San Dimas native had a strong finish at the SCIAC Championship. He opened with an even-par 72 on day one, shot a 76 on day two, and closed with a two-under 70 on day three. Hussein finished eighth overall at the championship.

Phanomchai made a splash in his first collegiate season on his way to earning SCIAC Newcomer of the Year and First Team All-SCIAC honors. The Thailand native won SCIAC No. 2 shooting even during the two rounds with scores of 71 and 73. Phanomchai made his presence known at the prestigious West Cup with a fifth-place overall finish. The freshman took 15th at the SCIAC Championship and 20th at SCIAC No. 1.

Davis earned Second Team All-SCIAC honors. The junior's best individual performance came at the Las Vegas Desert Classic when he tied for 38th overall in a field of top NCAA Division II and III talent. Davis closed out the SCIAC Championship strong, shooting a one-under 71 on day three.

All three golfers earned SCIAC Athlete of the Week honors over the course of the season.
