Davis Named PING All-American

NORMAN, OK — Conner Davis added another accolade to his amazing 2018 campaign.

The junior was tabbed a PING All-America Honorable Mention the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Wednesday. 

Davis who had a spectacular run at the 2018 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships, earns All-American honors for the first time in his career. The Upland native took seventh overall at the tournament after shooting a one-under 71 and jumping up eight spots on the final day of competition. His best round of the tournament came on day two when he rocketed up 25 spots on the leaderboard to 12th place after shooting a two-under 70.

The junior also earned Second Team All-SCIAC honors this season.

Davis also excels in the classroom. He was named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar for his academic success earlier this year. To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically and compete in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke average under 79.0 in Division III and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
