
NICHOLASVILLE, KY — The University of La Verne men's golf team season came to an end on Wednesday as the Leopards failed to advance to the final 36 holes of the tournament.
Eighteen of the 42 teams advanced to the final two rounds. The Leopards finished the first two rounds in 28th place with a total score of 633, 13 strokes away from the 18th place team.
The Leopards end the season with a SCIAC Championship, the tenth in program history, and will bring back 11 golfers including three who participated at the NCAA Championships.
Hisham Hussein and Pitiluk Phanomchai finished the day in a tie for 66th place. Phanomchai finished the day with four birdies including on back-to-back holes on the fifth and six holes to card a 75. Hussein added a pair of birdies.
Conner Davis improved by four strokes on round two and birdied the 12th hole.
Jake Littlejohn shot an 83 on round two and Jason Brown ended the day with an 86.
Hussein and Davis both graduate this year. They leave the program with a combined four All-SCIAC selections, two All-Region selections, an All-American honor, and an Academic All-American award.
