Phanomchai Wins Oregon Tech Invite

KLAMATH FALLS, OR — Pitiluk Phanomchai won the individual title and the University of La Verne men's golf team finished third at the Oregon Institue of Technology Invitational.

Phanomchai had an outstanding two days in Oregon. The junior shot a par-72 on day one to finish the round one stroke off the lead. The two-time All-Region and All-SCIAC selection closed the invite in dominating fashion, shooting a five-under 67 in the second round for a final score of five-under 139. Phanomchai finished the invite five strokes better than the next closest competitor.

Brandon Blum and Aaron Yoo tied for third place. The pair had identical showings, each shooting a 73 on day one and 72 on day two to finish at one-over, 145.

Connor Dunlop finished two strokes back of the pair with a 147. The sophomore showed major improvement between each round, opening with a 77 before improving by seven strokes his next time out.

Jake Littlejohn finished in a tie for 11th place. The junior from Roseville, CA shot a 74 on day one and a 75 on day two to finish at five-over, 159.

Zane Mularski tied for 16th place at nine-over, 153. Michael Ordona (156), Justin Eller-Hughes (158), Nathan Stepanskii (158), and Lachlan Tatterson (170) closed out the invite for La Verne.

Next Round

The Leopards continue the preseason this Sunday when they travel to Butte Creek in Chico, CA to compete at the CSU Chico Wildcat Classic.
