Leopards Win Chapman Quad

Chino Hills, CA - The University of La Verne men's golf team competed in the Chapman Quad Tournament, hosted by Chapman University.

The tournament was held at Los Serranos Country Club in Chino Hills, California. The Leopards played fifty-four holes, leading the tournament from the onset til the end. The Leopards won the tournament, shooting for a total of 579, defeating Chapman University, Occidental College, and Pomona Pitzer.

La Verne was ahead nine shots after day one and continued to lock in their focus as day two began. Head Coach Nathalie da Silva was very pleased with the performance of her team. " Even though the team is very young they showed a lot of maturity during the final round. We were able to shoot 13 under overall, the team had five players finishing on the top 10th and two of our freshmen tied for first place, Shreyas Kumaresh and Henri Nishiwaki, and our senior Michael Ordona took third. Finishing the fall season with a win was important. The players know what it takes to be a champion and we can't wait for the spring season to start."

La Verne will continue it's preparation for the spring season as they close out the fall season.
