PASADENA- The University of La Verne men's soccer team scored a 2-0 win against the California Institute of Technology Saturday. 

The scoreboard was knotted up at 0-0 before freshman striker Nathan Gonzalez found the back of the net off an Andrew Geenen (senior, defender) cross in the 41st minute. Senior midfielder David Gonzalez added another goal in the 50th minute to secure victory for the Leopards. Freshman goalie David Lopez tallied a clean sheet with three saves. 

La Verne attempted 13 shots, including seven on goal, while Caltech had only six shots, including zero in the first half. The Leos held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks. 

La Verne will play host to Pomona-Pitzer Monday at Ortmayer Stadium. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
