La Verne, CA - The University of La Verne hosted the Occidental Tigers for an evening SCIAC match at Ortmayer Stadium. The Tigers came into the game having only lost one conference game, good for first place in the conference.
With the crowd in attendance full of energy on both sides, the players on the field provided a continuance of that energy. A closely contested battle through the first half of play, La Verne would attempt three shots on the goal while Occidental attempted nine shots on the goal but both teams would go scoreless entering halftime. The Leopards would have two corner kicks in the second half of play but would not be able to convert them into points on the board. Occidental would manage to score three goals in the half, resulting in a 3-0 victory over the Leopards. The loss dropped the Leopards to below .500 in conference play.
La Verne returns back to action Wednesday, October 5th when they host Redlands at Ortmayer Statium. The game starts at 7:00 PM.
