REDLANDS, Calif. — The La Verne men's track and field dominated the throwing events once again and posted good individual results at the second SCIAC Multi-Dual meet on Saturday at Ted Runner Stadium.

La Verne went 1-2-3 in the hammer throw. All-American Andrew Carrasco won with a toss of 56.57 meters (185 feet, 7 inches) and remains undefeated in the event on the season. Chris Gura took second with a throw of 50.20m (164-08) and TJ Randall finished third with a heave of 46.31m (151-11).

Gura won the shot put with a toss of 14.30m (46-11.00) and the discus with a throw of 43.12m (141-06).

Randall finished second in the discus (40.70m; 133-06). Miachael Burciaga-Ellis recorded a second place finish in the javelin with a throw of 47.62m (156-03).

Kyle Ambat, La Verne's breakout jumper, continued his roll with with personal record mark of 6.79m (wind-assisted) to finish third in the long jump. He added another third place finish in the triple jump (13.59m; 44-07.00).

The Leopards shined on the track as well. Joshua Francis notched second place finishes in the 200m (22.53) and the 400m (49.42). Hunter Powers, a sophomore who joined the team this year, went 11.40 in the 100 to finish third and finished right behind Francis in the 200m with a tim of 22.74. Jesus Payan finished third behind Francis in the 400m at 50.37.

The 4x400m relay team of Terrence Robinson, Jesus Payan, Josh Bell and Francis combined to post a time of 3:20.55 and finished second. The "B" team of Joseph Azucena, Jeffrey Ouk, Patrick Cornwell and Trevor Welch finished in third with a time of 3:31.54.

La Verne lost to CMS 85-77 and and to Redlands 92-71.

The Leopards are back in action on Saturday at Pomona-Pitzer Invitational.
