HANOVER, IND.- University of La Verne sophomore Bryan Hayes raced to a 67th-place finish at the NCAA cross county championships Saturday.

Hayes, a first-team all-SCIAC and all-West Region performer, covered the 8,000-meter course in 25 minutes, 42.4 seconds in the 275-runner field. It was a 33-place improvement on his 100th-place finish as a freshman in 2012 and the top individual finish in program history.

Hayes was third among SCIAC runners and fifth among West Region runners after finishing fifth at the league championships and 10th in the regional meet.
