Men's Cross Country posts solid times at Coyote Challenge

SAN BERNARDINO, CA — The University of La Verne men's cross country team posted solid times Saturday at the competitive Coyote Challenge hosted by Cal State San Bernardino.

From the Coach

"The men surprised me today. They improved their spread by over a minute from Biola and most of them ran personal bests or close to it," said head coach Justin Wood. "We can build on today's performance and I'm excited to see what they do in two weeks."

Matthew Salas led the Leopards with a time of 26:39.5, his fastest time ever in the 8K. Senior Samuel Johnny and sophomore Eric Lopez-Elwell finished close behind each other as the Leopards' second and third finishers. Johnny crossed with a time of 27:17.1 and Lopez-Elwell posted a time of 27:17.5.

Marcelo Arcos finished at 27:43.5 with Freshman Jeremiah Alarcon following close behind at 27:53.7.
