WALLA WALLA, WA — The University of La Verne men's cross country team finished with their best 8K average of the season Saturday morning at the NCAA West Regionals.

Matthew Salas followed close behind with a time of 26:45.9. The trio's times are respectively the seventh, eighth, and ninth best in La Verne history.

From the Coach

"The men put together a great team race. We didn't earn any all-region honors but put five runners in the top 87 and set a season-best average for the 8K," said head coach Justin Wood. "Their 12th place finish is a significant improvement from last year's 18th place. We return five of our top seven and so I'm encouraged about our future."

Kyle Regret and Aidan Garcia both added personal bests. Regret finished with a time of 27:19.8 and Garcia clocked in at 27:40.3.

Jeremiah Alarcon finished at 28:36.7 and Marcelo Arcos ended with a time of 28:43.7.
