THOUSAND OAKS, CA — The Regals had a big fourth inning and the University of La Verne softball team couldn't generate enough offense to overcome the deficit, falling to Cal Lutheran 4-1 Friday afternoon.

Season Impact

The Leopards move to 8-4 overall and 2-2 in the SCIAC. Cal Lutheran improves to 5-5 overall and 2-2 in conference play.

The Reglas scored four runs in the fourth inning off a two-run home run by Ariana Mendoza and a two-RBI double by Celeste Ekman.

Katheryn Navarro sent La Verne's lone run to the plate in the top of the seventh when she singled in pinch-runner Savanah Gherir. Justice Borden finished with a double.

Next Game

The Leopards return home tomorrow to face Cal Lutheran in a doubleheader beginning at noon.
