MacKay, Tittl Compete at the NCAA Regional Meet

GRINNELL, Ia. – The University of La Verne divers Scott MacKay and Jacob Tittl posted solid results at the NCAA Division III Regional Diving Meet but fell just short of qualifying for the National Championships.

On the 3-meter board on Friday, MacKay placed fourth with a score of 426.90 and Tittl was sixth with a 389.15.

In the 1-meter event on Saturday, Tittl had a score of 414.95 and MacKay posted a 391.35.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps' James Stevick won both events.

It was an excellent season for MacKay and Tittl. Both shattered the previous school records in diving held by Tittl at last week's SCIAC Swimming and Diving Championships and became the first La Verne divers in memory to compete at the NCAA Regional Meet.
