LA VERNE, CA — Jessica Argelander has been tabbed SCIAC Women's Swimmer of the Week the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced Monday.
Argelander made a splash in her first SCIAC meet for the University of La Verne women's swim and dive squad, leading the Leopards to a close 136-135 win over Cal Lutheran in a meet against No. 13 Pomona-Pitzer and the Regals. The senior transfer won the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.72 and touched first in the 100 freestyle at 54.20. She also finished 3rd in the women's 100 butterfly (1:03.26) and led off the winning 400 freestyle relay that posted a time of 3:51.31.
Next Meet
The Leopards open their home schedule against Whittier College this Saturday at the La Verne Aquatic Center. Diving starts at 10:30 with swimming commencing immediately after.
