Orange, CA — Jessica Argelander won a pair of events and Brian McAteer won the 100-yard breaststroke as the University of La Verne men's and women's swim and dive teams competed against Chapman and Mills.
Argelander won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.11 and added a win in the 50-yard freestyle clocking in at 24.78. Argelander is undefeated in the SCIAC in both events and ranks first in the 100 freestyle.
McAteer won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:02.33, just off his all-time best mark.
"Another win for the women but great swims by most of the team," said La Verne swim and dive coach Pat Skehan. "Thirty percent of the swims were faster than Winter Invite and season-bests. This is great coming off eight weeks of hard training."
Carli Willis was voted swimmer of the meet with three season-best times in the 400-yard individual medley (5:05.90), 100-yard butterfly (1:03.22), and 500-yard freestyle (5:39.53). She swam all three in a short 6 event span.
