LA VERNE, Calif. — Noelle Cobb posted a double-double and the La Verne seniors all played well in their final collegiate game but it wasn't enough in a 76-66 loss to Whittier on Tuesday evening at Sports Science and Athletic Pavilion.

The Leopards finish the season 3-22 overall and 3-13 in SCIAC play. Whittier finishes 9-16 and 8-8.

Before the game, the Leopards held a pregame ceremony celebrating the careers of their four seniors: Cobb, Karli Kato, Faye Osburn and Erika Pagkalinawan.

They went out with a flourish. Cobb finished 18 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Osburn scored 10 points and grabbed six boards. Pagkalinawan and Kato filled up the box score, combining for 14 points, 15 rebounds and five assists.

The Leopards jumped out to an early advantage as they scored the game's first 10 points and kept Whittier scoreless for the first six minutes of the game. But the Poets shot 58 percent in the second quarter, including 6-of-8 from long range, to score 29 points in the frame and went into the break with a 44-35 lead.

The Leopards used a 6-0 run late in the third quarter to trim the lead to five and went into the final period trailing by six. But Whittier opened the fourth quarter with a 3-pointer by Carly Buechler and Emily Underwood and Ana Youngblood hit back-to-back layups to open a 13-point and never looked back.

Underwood led the Poets with 22 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Emilee Dy scored 14 points off the bench, Cali Cubel had 12 and Buechler finished with 10
