Leopards close season against Beavers

LA VERNE, Calif. — Senior Kayla Chism scored a career-high in her final game as a Leopard, but the University of La Verne women's basketball team fell 97-74 to Caltech in their season finale.

The Leopards finish the season 5-20 overall and 3-13 in SCIAC play. 

Chism saved her best for Last. The senior went 13-19 from the field to lead La Verne with a career-high 28 points. The Rancho Cucamonga native also led her squad with eight rebounds.

Clarissa Perez finished with 27 points, six assists, and five rebounds. The junior finishes her incredible first season with the Leopards with 600 points scored.

Senior Kristi Sakamoto added eight points with a pair of three-pointers. She also recorded a steal, assist, and a rebound.

Caltech was led by Samantha D'Costa's 28 points with Elizabeth Eiden scoring 24 points.
