LA VERNE, CA — Clarissa Perez has been named the SCIAC Women's Basketball Offensive Athlete of the Week the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced Monday.
Perez led the Leopards to a pair of big wins last week. The senior finished with a double-double in a must-win game over Cal Lutheran, scoring a game-high 23 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. She also dished out three assists and knocked down three buckets from beyond the arc.
Perez also had a solid game over visiting UC Santa Cruz, scoring 15 points with a pair of rebounds, one assist, and one steal in the Leopards' comeback win.
The Leopards are currently in the hunt for the fourth and final playoff spot in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament. With three conference games remaining, the Leopards can clinch a spot by winning out or with two wins and a Whittier loss.
La Verne will take on Claremont-Mudd-Scripps tonight at 6 p.m. at Roberts Pavilion.
