REDLANDS — The University of La Verne Leopards dropped a game on the road against Redlands Bulldogs by a score of 80-51.

The Leopards defense held the Bulldogs to only 9 points in the first quarter on 25% shooting and 0-5 from beyond the arc. Unfortunately, the Leopards could not muster up much offense in the first quarter either as they scored FIVE points on 9% shooting.

Monica Garcia Silva got things going for La Verne in the second quarter scoring 7 points on 3-6 shooting. Despite her efforts, Redlands added to their lead in the second and went to the half with a 37-20 lead.

The Bulldogs stretched their first half 17 point lead to a 29 point victory in the second half, led offensively by Angelina Roque who had 20 points and 3 assists.

La Verne had two players in double figures. Jaelynn Curley led the way with 14 points and Monica Garcia Silva added 13 points to go along with her team-high 7 boards. Jazzlyn Johnson also gathered 7 rebounds and 7 points.

Redlands improved to 11-2 overall and remained unblemished in SCIAC at a perfect 7-0. The Leopards fell to 9-6 overall and 2-5 in SCIAC.

La Verne looks to get back on track this Saturday at noon against Pomona-Pitzer at the Linde Activities Center (LAC).
