PASADENA — The La Verne Leopards lost on the road to the Caltech Beavers 80-70.

The Leopards started strong but could not keep up their first quarter pace over the course of the game. La Verne drained five 3's in the first quarter from four different Leo's and held a slight edge over Caltech 25-21. La Verne struggled the rest of the way shooting 23% in the second and third and 27% in the fourth.

La Verne was led offensively by Jaelynn Curley for a second straight night, scoring 26 points. Curley has averaged 23.2 points per game over the past five games. Jazzlyn Johnson stuffed the stat sheet as usual providing 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Leopards forward, Monica Garcia Silva, gathered a season-high 12 rebounds on the night.

La Verne fell to 10-8 overall and 3-7 in SCIAC. Caltech improved to 8-10 overall and 3-7 in SCIAC.

The Leopards look to get back on track on Wednesday night on the road against CMS as they look for a season sweep against the Athenas.
