“Coach Rainey had a tremendous collegiate career, and has dynamic experience working with high caliber student-athletes," said Head Coach Jason Pruitt. "Her connections on the west coast and east coast are very advantageous to our program. Coach Rainey understands the special nature of working at the University of La Verne. I look forward to welcoming her to the ULV family.”

Prior to the University of Antelope Valley, Rainey served one season as Associate Head Coach of the Bethesda University Flames out of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). Coach Rainey helped guided the Flames to a record-breaking run and a No. 8 ranking in the final NCCAA standings for the 2015-16 season. She was previously an assistant coach at Los Angeles Southwest Community College and View Park Preparatory High School.

As a player, Rainey prepped at Crenshaw High School where she was a four-time, first team, all-league and all-city honoree and named all-state as a senior. She earned a scholarship to St. Johns University after playing two years at Los Angeles Trade Tech Community College where she led the state of California in scoring.

When away from the hardwood, Love’s other passion is her company, Balance with Love, a health and wellness company dedicated to balance and healing through holistic living. Love embodies her signature phrase, “moving a muscle will change a feeling” and works diligently to impart this belief to those around her on and off the court.

Love received her B.A. Degree from St. Johns University in New York and her Wellness Certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. She also possesses numerous certifications in various health and wellness modalities. Love is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Love Rainey is looking forward to this upcoming basketball season at the University of La Verne.
