Coach Tia Scott is entering her third season assisting our women's basketball program here at the University of La Verne. Specializing in recruiting, player development, academic success, and fundraising. Coach Scott has a Master’s degree in Educational Counseling from the University of La Verne and is working on her Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership.

Born and raised in Harlem, New York Coach Tia Scott graduated from Merrimack College (North Andover, Massachusetts) with her degree in Human Development and minors in both women’s studies and education. While attending Merrimack College she was a member of the women’s basketball team who competed in postseason competition for three consecutive years. In her time at Merrimack, she broke the single-season assist record with 182, finished 2nd in school history in assists with 494. For two consecutive years, Scott ranked nationally in assists per game and was the only player in the country with multiple triples doubles in 2016. As a player, she collected accolades such as second team all-conference, second team All-East region, two team defensive player of the year awards, and conference player of the week recognition.
