SAN DIMAS, Calif. — Kirsten Contreras and Rachel Hong of the University of La Verne women's golf team carded their first collegiate rounds against Pomona-Pitzer at Via Verde Country Club on Sunday.
Contreras had an up and down day, but strung together a couple of birdies and posted a score of 93.
Hong, also an ace in the circle for the La Verne softball team, carded her lowest ever 18-hole score of 116.
"Our women played well on an unfamiliar layout," Davis said of the women's team. "I was very proud of both Kirsten and Rachel for grinding out their rounds and continuing to improve in their first collegiate golf season."
La Verne returns to action next weekend for the first of two SCIAC tournaments. The two-round event will be held on Saturday and Sunday at Robinson Ranch Golf Club in Santa Clarita.
