
WEST COVINA, Calif. — The University of La Verne women's golf team took seventh place at SCIAC No. 2 over the weekend at South Hills Country Club.
The Leopards shot a two-round total of 847 (434-413) and every player turned in a lower score in the second round.
Kirsten Contreras was La Verne's highest finisher, shooting a total of 188 to finish tied for 31st. She carded a 96 in the first round on Saturday and posted a 92 on Sunday.
Morgan Malloy shot a 103 on Saturday but slashed eight strokes on Sunday to come in with a 95 and finished with a total of 198. She finished 35th overall.
Valerie Lopez finished 36th (108-103=211) and Jillian Hughes finished 38th (127-123=250).
The Leopards are back in action at the 2016 SCIAC Women's Golf Championship on April 24-26 at Oak Valley Golf Club.
