Women's Golf opens SCIAC play

CHINO HILLS, CA  – The University of La Verne women's golf team opened up SCIAC play at Los Serranos Country Club.

The Leopards finished in eighth overall with a total score of 787.

Sophomore Alexi Gonzalez led the Leopards each day of the competition. After shooting a 98 on day one, Gonzalez improved by 11 strokes on day two of SCIAC No. 1

Katrina Kasenda also showed a big improvement on day two. The freshman opened SCIAC No. 1 with a 101 and shot a 93 on the final day of the tournament.

Fellow freshman Alexandra Hauck carded a 101 on day one and improved by eight strokes to shoot a 93 on Sunday.

Carly Nicholson shot a 101 on day one and 103 on day two. Khinchitchit Chaw rounded out the scoring with a 124 on Saturday and 132 on Sunday.

Next Round

The Leopards compete next on Monday, March 11 at the Cal Lutheran Invitational at Sunset Hills Golf Club.
