LA VERNE, CA — The University of La Verne men's and women's golf teams are set to compete at the 2019 SCIAC Golf Championships beginning this Thursday, April 18.

Spectator Information
Tickets: Adults: $10.00/daily; Veterans/Seniors: $5.00/daily; Children under 12 Free; SCIAC ID Free
- All spectators will need to check in at the welcome table to purchase a wristband. A different color wristband will be sold each day.
- All spectators must walk the course unless approved for a cart by the tournament director.
- Spectators will be asked to put all electronic devices such as cell phones in silent mode.
- All spectators should wear proper golf course attire (NO jeans).
- Only credentialed coaches are permitted to coach the athletes while they are on the course. Any conversation with athletes could be interpreted as unauthorized coaching under USGA Rule 8, and the athlete could be given a two-stroke penalty as a result.
- Spectators may assist players, tournament staff, and NCAA Rules Officials search for lost balls on the course. The timing allocated to search for a lost ball begins when the player arrives at the scene, so spectators are encouraged to assist with the search immediately in order to maintain pace of play. If a ball should accidentally be touched or moved, the spectator must make the player or coach aware of such movement, so that they may accurately follow the related rules.
- No outside food or drinks are permitted on site. The snack bar will be open during the tournament.

Men's Preview
The SCIAC Men's Golf Championships, for the second year in a row, will be a three-way race for the top spot. The Leopards ranked No. 11 by Golfstat and No. 13 by the GCAA, enter the tournament with a one-stroke lead over No. 8/9 Redlands and a five shot advantage over defending SCIAC Champions No. 13/11 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
Returning SCIAC Newcomer of the Year and West Region Freshman of the Year Pitiluk Phanomchai has looked just as good if not better during his sophomore campaign. The Thailand native has twice earned SCIAC Athlete of the Week honors this season first after winning the Poet Challenge in the Leopards' first tournament of the spring and again the following week after he tied for first at SCIAC No. 1.
Reining SCIAC Athlete of the Year Hisham Hussein looks poised to make a push for the individual SCIAC title in his senior season. Hussein is coming off back-to-back third place finishes at the prestigious West Cup and at SCIAC No. 2
Conner Davis is also ready to continue his strong senior season. The 2018 All-American added a fifth place finish this season at the Warrior Invitational in a field of top NCAA DII and NAIA squads. Davis also added a top-20 finish at the West Cup and tied for sixth at SCIAC No. 1.
Jason Brown, Connor Dunlop, and Jake Littlejohn will also help La Verne's push for a SCIAC title. Brown and Littlejohn each posted top-10 finishes at the Warrior Invitational. The pair also both finished in the top-15 at the West Cup with Brown, who shot a round one low score of 69, taking 10th and Littlejohn taking 13th.
Dunlop added a top-20 finish at the West Cup and Warrior Invitational and looked solid in conference competition, taking six at SCIAC No. 1.
