LA VERNE- The University of La Verne women's soccer squad struck early and often in a 3-0 conference victory over Whittier College Saturday.

The Leopards dominated the offense flow in the first half. Senior forward Marisella Macias was credited with two goals, the first coming in the 14th minute, with the second coming off an assist from senior forward Olga Saldivar in the 18th. Freshman forward/midfielder Megan Hodgson added another in the 31st minute. The Leos outshot Whittier 10-4 in the first half. 

La Verne continued its shots-fired advantage in the second by a 9-7 margin. The Leopards also earned five corner kicks in the second half to Whittier's one and tallied a 7-3 advantage for the match.

Macias unleashed five shots, including four on goal, to lead the Leo offense. Junior Goalie Delanie Pacheco recorded a clean sheet with six saves.
