THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — The University of La Verne women's soccer team held Cal Lutheran scoreless in the first half but couldn't find the back of the net in a 2-0 loss at Rolland Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Regals improve to 12-3-3 overall and 6-3-3 in the SCIAC while the Leopards fall to 3-13 and 2-10.

The Regals pressed the Leopards immediately out of the halftime break and Bri Pinal struck the left back of the net in the 46th minute to put Cal Lutheran on the board.

Cal Lutheran would add insurance in the 81st minute on a corner from Riley Martin to Nina Winsick who found the upper right corner.

La Verne's offense was stifled in the second half, only taking three shots to Cal Lutheran's nine. Juna Bouchekara led the charge with three shots, but was unable to translate anything into points on the board.

Hanien Samara made four saves in her second start for the Leopards.

La Verne returns to action on Wednesday at Chapman for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
