Women's Soccer falls at Chapman, 2-0

ORANGE, Calif. — The University of La Verne women's soccer team lost to Chapman, 2-0, on Wednesday evening at Ernie Chapman Stadium as Bailee Cochran struck twice for Chapman.

La Verne falls to 3-14-0 overall and 2-11-0 in the SCIAC. Chapman improves to 9-7-1 and 6-6-1.

Cochran opened the scoring in the 39th minute as she finished off a pass from Emmy Hoskins and notched the insurance marker in the 67th minute off an assist by Rachel Lustig.

The Leopards played as well as they could defensively but struggled to connect anything on offense as the Panthers dominated the run of play. Chapman outshot La Verne, 26-5, and put 12 shots on frame.

Heather Seman registered double-digit saves for the second time this season, finishing with 10 tonight.

La Verne recorded its first shot on goal in the 23nd minute as Casey Moore's attempt was saved. Ari Dowell forced another save just before the end of the first half but that was all La Verne managed until the 83rd minute when Kindal Cubak got a shot off.

The Leopards wrap up the season at home against No. 21 Pomona-Pitzer at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
