Women's Soccer ties CMS on the road

CLAREMONT, Calif. — The University of La Verne women's soccer team had some chances in the second overtime period, but couldn't find the back of the net, tying with the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athenas 0-0 on the road. 

Season Impact: The Leopards move to 7-2-3 overall and 3-2-3 in the SCIAC. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps moves to 4-5-2 overall and 3-3-2 in the conference.

Jasmine Valadez got the start in the box for La Verne, totaling fives saves in the game, including three in the overtime periods. 

Ari Dowell and Catherina Posada had the last chances for La Verne in the second overtime period. But Dowell's shot missed high, and Athenas' keeper Claire Hamson snatched Posada's shot.

Hannah Leone took three shots for La Verne. Anna Ottley and Andrea Story each took two shots in the tie.

Next Game: The Leopards next host the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athenas on Wednesday, October 11 at 7 p.m.
