Women's Soccer falls to Occidental in OT

LOS ANGELES — The University of La Verne women's soccer team played to a stalemate through the first 90 minutes with keeper Hanien Samara grabbing four saves.

But just under a minute and a half into the overtime, Meredith Cook connected with Elleni Bekele to score the game's lone goal, giving Occidental a 1-0 win.

Season Impact

The Leopards have been in nearly every game they've played in, sending five games to extra time and dropping four games by just one goal, but are still searching for their first win. La Verne moves to 0-7-2 overall and 0-6-1 in SCIAC play.

Occidental improves to 5-0-2 overall and 4-0-2 in SCIAC play.

Next Game

The Leopards return home this Saturday to face the Caltech Beavers at 7 p.m.
