Lee Kim shines in Westmont meet

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — Catalina Lee Kim won the long jump and triple jump, and the University of La Verne women's track and field team totaled six top-three finishes Saturday at the Westmont On Your Marks Meet.

Lee Kim started the 2018 season in impressive fashion. The senior won the long jump with a leap of 5.38 meters. She followed up her performance with another win, this time in the triple jump where she won with a distance of 11.98 meters.

On the track, Lee Kim took second in the 60 meter hurdles and made a B-cut with a time of 9.11 seconds.

Ebony Turner and Melissa Cerrillos each turned in second place finishes of their own on Saturday. Turner took second in the high jump with a height of 1.55 meters. Cerillos finished second in the one mile run with a time of 5:21.84

Karina Jimenez also had a strong showing, taking third in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:42.12.

Next Meet: La Verne will complete as a split squad next week with some Leopards returning to Westmont for the Sunshine Open while others head to Northern Arizona for the NAU Invitational.
